Free Summer Screen Time Rules Printable | No Screen Time Until Checklist for Kids
Summer is supposed to be fun… but if your house is anything like mine, you might hear, “Can I have my tablet?” before breakfast is even finished!
Instead of reminding my kids over and over what needs to be done, I love using a simple checklist to manage their screen time and get things done so they know exactly what comes first, and I don’t have to repeat myself all day.
This free Summer Screen Time Rules Printable helps kids build healthy habits before they earn screen time. They simply flip down each task as they complete it, making it a fun and visual way to stay on track.
The printable includes two versions and a foldable checklist.
What’s Included
- 2 printable Summer Rules checklists: one for girls and one for boys
- Foldable “Done!” tracker
- US Letter PDF
- Ready to print
- Perfect for home or summer break
How It Works
Print the checklist page and the sun tabs page.
Print on separate pages if you’ll cut and glue the tabs, or print double-sided if your printer supports duplex printing.
Step 2: Cut the Flaps
Cut along the dashed lines to create the foldable flaps.
Step 3: Attach the Sun Tabs
Cut out the sun tabs and glue one to the back of each folded flap.
When the flap is lifted, the “DONE!” message will be revealed.
Step 4: Display Your Chart
Hang your chart on the fridge, wall, or another easy-to-see spot using magnets, glue dots, or poster putty.
As your child completes each task, lift the flap to reveal “DONE!” and celebrate their progress!
You can even laminate it and use it again and again.
Tasks Included
Your child completes simple daily tasks like:
- Get ready for the day
- Eat breakfast
- Tidy their room
- Read for 20 minutes
- Write for 20 minutes
- Complete a coloring or creative activity
- Play outside
- Help with a chore
These simple routines encourage responsibility while making screen time management for kids much easier during summer break.
Why Parents Love It
Let’s be honest—no one wants to spend summer arguing about screens.
A simple routine helps kids know what’s expected, builds independence, and encourages healthy screen time habits. Instead of constantly asking, “Did you clean your room?” or “Have you done your reading?” they can check the chart themselves.
It’s an easy way to create a summer routine for kids without making the day feel overly scheduled.
