What Is the Halloween Who Am I? Game?

Each player gets a Halloween character card without looking at it.

They hold the card on their forehead so everyone else can see it, then ask yes or no questions to figure out who they are.

You can ask things like:

  • Am I scary?
  • Am I a monster?
  • Am I from a movie?
  • Do I have magic powers?
  • Am I human?
  • Am I a classic Halloween character?
  • Do I have fangs?
  • Can I fly?

Players keep asking questions until they guess their character.

It is simple, but once everyone starts playing, it gets really fun.

Free Halloween Who Am I? Cards for Kids

I am sharing an easier set of Halloween Who Am I? cards for kids.

These include familiar Halloween characters that are easier to guess, so they are great for younger players or mixed-age family games.

You can use them at home, in the classroom, for a mix group Halloween party, or even as a quick indoor activity.

If you are playing with teens or adults and want more challenging characters, I also have a larger version with harder Halloween, folklore, horror, and pop-culture characters.

How to Play Halloween Who Am I Game?

  • Print the cards and cut them out.
  • Shuffle the cards and place them face down.
  • Each player chooses one card without looking at it.
  • Hold the card against your forehead so everyone else can see it.
  • Now start asking yes or no questions.
  • Keep asking until you figure out who your character is.
  • Then move on to the next player.

That is really all there is to it.

How to Play With Kids

For younger kids, I would keep the game very relaxed. Let them keep asking questions until they guess the character. If they get stuck, you can give them a small hint.

For example:

  • You can fly.
  • You have fangs.
  • You are usually seen at Halloween.
  • You are a monster.
  • You wear a pointed hat.
  • You can also go through the cards before the game starts and remove any characters the kids may not know.

That makes the game much more fun because nobody gets stuck with a character they have never heard of.

How to Play With Teens

For teens, you can make the game a little more challenging. Use a mix of easy and harder characters and add a timer. Give each player 60 seconds to guess their character.

You can also limit them to 10 questions. If they guess correctly, they get one point. The person with the most points at the end wins.

This version works especially well because the harder cards can include classic horror characters, folklore, and more recognizable movie characters.

How to Play With Adults

For adults, I would use the full mix of cards. You can include classic Halloween characters, horror characters, folklore, literary characters, and modern pop-culture characters.

This makes the game more interesting because everyone knows different things. One person may know all the old horror characters, while someone else knows the newer ones.

You can keep it casual or turn it into a points game with a timer.

Halloween Who Am I? Office Party Game

This game also works really well for an office Halloween party. There is hardly any setup, and the rules are easy to explain. You can play individually or divide everyone into teams.

For teams, one player picks a card and asks their team yes or no questions. Give them 60 seconds to guess. If they get it right, the team earns one point.

Then switch to the other team. The team with the most points at the end wins.

It is a nice option if you want a Halloween office game that is simple and not too complicated.

Choose the Cards That Work for Your Group

Before you start, have a quick look through the cards and remove any that may be too difficult for your group. You do not have to use every card.

For younger kids, use the easier characters. For teens and adults, mix in the harder ones. That way the game feels fun instead of frustrating.

Make It Easier or Harder

If you want an easier game, choose familiar characters like Witch, Ghost, Vampire, Mummy, Skeleton, Zombie, Werewolf, and Frankenstein’s Monster.

If you want to make it harder, add cards with folklore characters, classic horror characters, movie characters, and pop-culture characters.

You can also start with the easy pile and bring out the harder cards later. That works really well for mixed-age groups.
